SEAN O'HAIRE'S PRIDE "REAL DEAL" NEWS & RESULTS
Sean loses to Butterbean quickly but not so painlessly, via KO :29 sec round 1 :(
Check out a few MMA reviews located at the "Results" page on the menu bar / site map.
FEW TIDBITS: Pride USA purse figures were released by the Nevada State Athletic Commission & Sean O'Haire reportedly made $15,000.
WEBMISTRESS NOTE: So he lost, but this ended up being higher than Nakamura and Robbie Lawler! :D
State Of Nevada Department Of Business & Industry Athletic Commission has suspended Sean until 11/21/06, no contact until 11/12/06.
WEBMISTRESS NOTE: Don't panic! A suspension from MMA isn't necessarily a "bad thing" or unusual. It refers to the State's rule of medical suspension giving recovery time that consists of 30-45 days for all fighters with the KO or TKO result usually regardless of severity.
UPDATE ON SEAN O'HAIRE'S PRIDE FIGHT
REPORTED OCT. 20th: "The last open hole in the Pride show on Saturday appears to be official with Butterbean vs. Sean O'Haire finalized in an MMA match. Mark Hunt, Butterbean's original opponent, was not able to get a visa in time to come to the U.S. and compete.
O'Haire, a former WWE and WCW star who has been fighting of late in the K-1 organization, is from the Valor Fighting management stable that includes several fighters with pro wrestling connections."
[ CREDIT: WO THANX: Vette ]
REPORTED OCT. 18th: "Pride's first choice is Butterbean vs. Hunt in a boxing match. Butterbean still needs to pass an MRI to get sanctioned but he's doing that today. He said his first choice would be the boxing match with Hunt. Hunt has agreed to it but there are still visa issues and he is currently out of the country trying to work them out. There is a deadline of 9 a.m. on Friday for him to be in Nevada and get cleared to fight. SEAN O'HAIRE is the sanctioned opponent for Butterbean, under MMA rules, if Hunt isn't cleared. We will update if or when Hunt does get cleared."

"The ninth and final bout for PRIDE's 10/21 U.S. debut has been all but confirmed and is likely going to be Kaz Fujita vs. Sean O'Haire from what we are now hearing. Heading into the show, this may not exactly be the most challenging card to pick the winners and losers. But then again, that's why they have the fights!"

SEAN'S K-1 WGP RESULTS
Sean loses to Justice Smith 2nd round. :(

SEAN LEAVES FOR VEGAS, VALOR UPDATES, NEW OPPONENT ANNOUNCED
SEANsational's favorite source Mama O'Haire, would like to inform us that Sean flew out to Vegas on Thursday the 11th assuming no delays due to the terrorist alert.
Sean is said to be positive & up & ready for this fight.
Still no clue why K-1 hasn't listed it, probably because he's just not scheduled to compete in the bracket which doesn't necessarily mean there aren't other fights taking place.
VALOR UPDATE: Valor Fighting is now reporting that Sean will be fighting a different opponent as reported, former Tough Enough contender Justice Smith.
Told ya 3 months ago the MMA world is wacky! ;)
CLICK HERE to read the new update on Sean O'Haire at ValorFighting.com. (Second paragraph down.)
Valor also updated the card for "Showdown At Cache Creek II" & no mention of Sean fighting Severn, but ya neverrrrrr know! ;)

ANOTHER POSSIBLE SEAN O'HAIRE VS. DAN SEVERN MATCH-UP
REPORTED MAY 2006: Tons of well-respected Pro wrestling / MMA sites are once again reporting O'Haire will be fighting 50+ year old Dan "The Beast" Severn at Valor Fighting's "Showdown At Cache Creek ll"
re-scheduled for Sept. 15th.
This match-up was also rumored at the previous "Showdown" but did not pan out as SEANsational™ reported back in February.
This time Severn's original opponent (Brian Pardoe) cannot compete due to an injury & Valor's official website has yet to confirm Severn's new opponent. I would only consider this a possibility until there's official confirmination, for the MMA business is very unpredictable & September is
still pretty distant!

O'HAIRE WRESTLES AT RECENT WWE SHOWS
Wrestling sites are reporting Sean O'Haire was at the 3/27/06 RAW show in Omaha for a "tryout". I don't understand why Sean has to "try out" for WWE to begin with! This isn't football! LOL Anyways, my reliable source has confirmed that Sean did indeed perform a dark match that night against Trevor Murdoch & will also be doing another dark match at SMACKDOWN on 3/28 in Kansas City (Thanx Joy!). Check back soon for future updates on Sean's possible return to WWE?

O'HAIRE NOMINATED IN THE BTB AWARDS:
Below The Belt Wrestling Radio has nominated Sean O'Haire under "Worst BTB Interview of 2005" for "The BTB Awards" broadcasting March 1st. I don't think it's a personal attack because Sean was very talkative, honest & gave alot of insight, so I believe it actually has to do with the terrible technical difficulties BTB experienced during that entire show back in April 27, 2005!
CLICK HERE to check out all nominees, categories, how to vote & broadcasting time
3/18/06 WEBMISTRESS UPDATE: The BTB boys were cool enough to drop me a line & let us know the date change. BTB did not elaborate, but the winners will be announced at the end of March & by the way... don't sweat over Sean winning the shitty category he's in....Thanx Al! ~Eve

SEAN O'HAIRE'S OPPONENT NAMED FOR K-1 "HERO'S":
Japanese sites are reporting K-1 event producers held a press conference for "Hero's" & "Max" and confirmed fighter Min Soo Kim will be Sean O'Haire's opponent.
WEBMISTRESS NOTE: I've done some checking into his opponent & Min Soo is using Korea Freelance style for "Hero's". He was a 1996 Olympic Judo Silver Medalist but has no MMA wins under his belt according to Sherdog. Min Soo has taken on 2 big name MMA fighters Bob Sapp & Ray Sefo, KO'd by both.

O'Haire's opponent? This is where it gets interesting. PuroresuPower.com is reporting that it could either be Jerome Lebanner or Kazuyuki Fujita. Either guy seems a bit too soon for O'Haire.

UPW'S PETE DOYLE RAVES ABOUT SEAN - 10/28/04:
(Source: Irish Pete.com THANX: Brad)
"Sean O'Haire has one of the most unique looks in pro wrestling. At 6'6" and 240lbs, O'Haire is a martial arts expert and has shoot fighting experience to mix. This kid has many miles left in him and is one of the most under rated talents in this industry. O'Haire got his first shot at the big time, when it comes to pro wrestling, in WCW, before moving over to WWE when they bought out WCW. I had the pleasure of managing Sean in his title shot against Tom Howard at UPW's Title Wave, July 2004.
Sean and I will be teaming up again soon, but not just in UPW. Keep your eyes open, who knows where we will show up and cause havoc!"

*He spoke about his arrest. And said that worst case, he would have to pay about $230. And that would be it. "My lawyer told me not to say anything..but screw it..I am going to."
*He spoke about fighting with K1..and that he is looking forward to working with them, and that within a year or 2, he sees himself as #1
*He said that with the WWE..it was a 2 way split. He said that if they weren't going to use him how he wanted to be, he wasen't going to become a babyface and be something he can't be. "I can't act. So that just wasn't going to work."
*He spoke about being the "Biggest badass in WCW", and that people got the wrong impression of him.."When I have something on my mind, that is all I can think about. I don't smile when I have something on my mind, and I think a lot of people took that the wrong way."

INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS FROM GET IN THE RING RADIO - 8/9/04:
(Source: PW Torch.com) : Sean O'Haire joins the show. The Phantom brings up recent rumors that O'Haire has been in Las Vegas recently wanting to become a K-1 fighter. O'Haire confirmed the rumors and said he is working out a deal right now to work for a promotion that is a minor league of K-1. Sir Adam said he can't believe O'Haire would want to do that stuff. O'Haire said he was the baddest man in WCW and WWE and has no fear of getting involved in the "real stuff" as people call it.
- Talk turns to how O'Haire has been involved with martial arts for a long time. O'Haire brings up how he has been practicing the sport since he was 10 years old and is undefeated in 17 matches called Hook and Shoots. He said no one went more than three minutes with him ever. O'Haire said he eventually got into pro wrestling and felt he was able to bring a new aspect to the business with his style. He compares his style to a martial arts movie and wanted to bring that aggressiveness to the ring at all times.
- The Phantom asked O'Haire if he thinks he got pushed too fast during his time in WCW. O'Haire disagreed and said he enjoyed working for both WCW and WWE. He brought up how he was one of the fastest students to graduate from the WCW Power Plant next to Bill Goldberg. O'Haire said he really didn't learn the psychology that great, but had all the moves down perfect. He said as time went on and he went to the WWE, he was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling and got to learn the psychology of wrestling more. O'Haire said he feels he is the best at whatever he does and truly felt he was on his way to becoming one of the best wrestlers ever. He said he feels that many times in his career he was pushed fast and then it basically stalled. O'Haire added that he never wanted to ask the question "why" because it would drive him insane.
- Talk turned to how the WWE began developing really unique vignettes about his character and The Phantom asked why nothing really came of them. O'Haire said nobody really knows what is going on half the time when a decision is made in the wrestling business. He said he could be wrong, but that was the impression he got during his stint with the WWE. O'Haire said many were in favor of the vignettes he was doing because it was constantly asking the "why" factor in terms of what society feels is acceptable. He said Vince liked it as a good heel move, but saw how the character would be both a babyface and heel. O'Haire mentioned Steve Austin, saying he isn't comparing himself to him at all, but brought up how he would go back and forth as a babyface or heel when he was just being himself.
- The Phantom mentioned the whole situation with Roddy Piper and how it really didn't work. O'Haire agreed it didn't work and said it really pissed him off. The Phantom asked if he let any higher-ups in WWE know he was upset. O'Haire said he did and feels that may have contributed to his eventual downfall in the company. He mentioned that he loved working with Piper, but was told by officials that he was the kind of guy that would say what he wanted, whenever he wanted. O'Haire said he never saw the HBO special that caused Piper to get released and never really cared to. He said when that took place though, his career stalled and never got the chance to further from that point on. O'Haire said he has nothing bad to say about the WWE as he never lost a singles match upon his return to the main roster from OVW. He said when people ask him why the WWE stopped using him he never really has an answer for them because he doesn't know himself.
- Sir Adam brings up how O'Haire's name has been in the headlines recently and asks if he can give his version of the story. O'Haire said his lawyer told him not to talk about it, but he said "screw it" and that he will talk a little about it anyway. He said all those reports he read never mention the other four guys that was with those girls at the time the altercation took place. O'Haire said the two girls started the fight with him and what was reported was false. Sir Adam mentioned that the newspaper reports said he flicked the hat off one of the girls and kicked the other. O'Haire said he did knock the hat off one, but never touched them. He added that one of the girls hit him so hard in his mouth that he thought she was a professional fighter. O'Haire said after that point he tried to get them kicked out, but was confronted by five to six other guys - some with the girls and some security. He admitted to kicking a few of those guys in the leg when they tried going after him, but said he never touched any of the girls at all. O'Haire said he had left the following day and got a call that there was a warrant for his arrest and was very surprised. He added that he has a great lawyer and knows the girls involved did their best to stretch the truth as far as possible. Sir Adam mentioned that they were out of time, but would love to have him on next week. O'Haire said he would love to and thanked them for having him on.

SEAN ALLEGEDLY CHARGED WITH ASSAULT - 7/29/04:
(Source: SavannahNow.com Thanx: Chelsea) : "HILTON HEAD - A professional wrestler is facing assault charges on Hilton Head Island for allegedly throwing punches outside the ring. But he says he's the one getting unfairly slammed.
Sean Haire, 33, of Hilton Head, was charged with two counts of simple assault and battery after allegedly hitting, shoving and kicking two women at a bar last month.
According to arrest warrants, Haire - that's Sean O'Haire to his fans - assaulted the women at Club Hypnotic on June 12 at about 2:30 a.m.
According to arrest warrants, Haire allegedly hit Ivy Rowland "with an upward blow to the face and head, knocking her hat off and later shoved her to the floor."
The warrant claims Haire punched Deirdre Clancy "in her face, knocking her to the ground and then he kicked her in the head and back while she was on the floor. The victim sustained trauma to her head and back necessitating emergency room treatment and follow-up care."
But Haire, who is 6-foot-4 and weighs 270 pounds, said Wednesday the women attacked him.
"I'm a professional fighter," he said. "If I was going to assault these people, they'd be in the hospital."
He said he was in Club Hypnotic's VIP room when one of the women came up and started dancing against him. After he declined her attention, he claims she pushed him and he told a bouncer to "Get this stupid bitch away from me."
"I flicked her hat off," Haire said.
After that, three men started swinging at him and the other woman joined in, Haire said during a phone interview Wednesday. All are strangers to him.
The women hit him in the face, split his lip and tore his shirt, he said. Still, he thought nothing of it and was surprised when the women swore out a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested Tuesday and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
"You can make up anything," he said. "Just common sense shows it's ridiculous and they're trying to get something out of it."
Haire was a well-known wrestler for World Wrestling Entertainment before he was released from his contract a couple of months ago. He said he is training for full-contact shoot fighting. His next fight is scheduled for Sept. 18 in Los Angeles."

NO NEWS ON SEAN'S WHEREABOUTS - 5/26/04:
"There has been zero news of him on the Japanese side of things since his Tokyo Dome match. There have been very light rumours of him touring with New Japan, but I'm doubtful of that. If he is still under contract to K-1, then there is a chance he's training for kickboxing or MMA (mixed martial arts) fights for them on upcoming shows."
'NEXESS' SPOILER - 5/1/04:
(Source: Strong Style Spirit.com) : "The future of New Japan Pro-Wrestling is counted on! 'NEXESS' is next, with New Japan's young generation going to war with the world's leading combat sports promotion, K-1!
'Assassin of K-1' Sean O'Haire was more vocal, saying he had received and accepted an offer to represent K-1. O'Haire said he had inquired about Tanahashi, and thinks he is a good wrestler, but believes his own 'wild style' will be too much for the U-30 Openweight Champion. When asked if he'd go up to the ring as 'K-1 MASK', he took off his sunglasses, and said that would be unnecessary.
