THE STORY BEHIND THE CONNECTION:
Lead singer Rachel Hagan, who works at Blades hair salon, was talking music with a customer who then asked her to write and sing a song for him. The man in the chair turned out to be (now former) WWE wrestler Sean O’Haire. He was serious about his request, though Hagan didn’t believe that until he came back and asked again. Just a couple of months after the band’s first appearance onstage, they were in a studio — along with O’Haire, who Hagan credits with coaching the musicians on what he and the audience get out of the fanfare ceremony when wrestlers stride down the aisles to enter the ring. The hard-charging track that came from the session was “Come On,” and it appears in original form and a well-filled-out remix on the new EP.
